2026/27 Premier League, Matchday 7
Leeds United vs Manchester United
Elland Road, Leeds
Sunday 18 October, 15:00
Leeds United will look to add to Manchester United’s woes in the Premier League when the teams meet for a Matchday 7 clash at Elland Road on the afternoon of Sunday 18 October, kick-off at 15:00 CAT.
Form
Leeds suffered a first Premier League defeat of the season when they were beaten 2-1 away to champions Arsenal on Saturday. The Whites claimed a surprise lead in London via James Justin, but the Gunners hit back with two goals in the final third to claim the victory.
Man United confirmed their worst start to a league season for 40 years when they could only draw 1-1 at home to 10-man Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend. The Red Devils claimed the lead via Bryan Mbeumo, but conceded a late equaliser to Dominic Solanke, and have managed just one win from their opening six Premier League matches.
Team news
Leeds will hope to have Daniel James, Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya fully fit and available for the visit of the Red Devils.
Ahead of facing Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, United will continue to be without Benjamin Sesko and Patrick Dorgu. Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt are also major doubts.
Head-to-head
Leeds and Man United have met in 109 matches across all competitions. The Red Devils have claimed 47 wins compared to 26 for the Whites, while 36 games have been drawn.
Leeds took four points off Man United in last season’s Premier League meetings, with a 1-1 draw at Elland Road in January 2026, and a 2-1 away win at Old Trafford in April 2026.
Quotes
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick:
“I think it could have been different but for a couple of little things here and there, but the reality is the reality, we've got to accept it. We need to put things in a positive direction quite quickly. We're more than capable of doing that. We've just got to be a little bit more streetwise in moments, a little bit more stubborn and a little bit more stronger and see out certain things."
