With the Spanish La Liga heading toward the business end of the 2025/26 season, Real Madrid is preparing to host Elche on Saturday at the popular Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are second on the La Liga log, having accumulated 63 points from 27 matches so far. Trailing log leaders Barcelona by four points, Los Blancos hope to secure their first league title since the 2023/24 season.
Madrid’s most recent outing was a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Celta Vigo at Balaidos on 6 March, where Federico Valverde scored a 95th-minute winner to secure three crucial points on away soil.
Over the last five La Liga matches, Real Madrid's form has varied, with three wins and two losses. Their victories against Valencia, Real Sociedad, and Vigo have ensured a comfortable gap toward their arch enemies during this period
Elche are currently in 17th position, with 26 points from 27 matches, one point above the relegation zone.
With survival being their primary mandate, Elche recorded a 2-1 defeat against Villarreal last time out, while they noted three defeats and two draws in their last five league outings.
Elche are now winless in their previous 10 La Liga assignments, and last tasted victory on 21 December 2025, following a 4-0 win against Rayo Vallecano at Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.

Speaking after Madrid’s latest win, Alvaro Arbeloa believes there are enough games left in the season to pip Barcelona from the top spot and that each game will be a test of character until the end of the campaign.
“This is Real Madrid: fight until the end, believe and battle,” Arbeloa said.
“Surely, we can do many things better, but the personality and character we showed today hopefully are a turning point, and from here, everything goes much better.”
