La Liga
Matchday 27
Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid
Balaidos
Vigo, Spain
Friday, 6 March 2026
Kick-off is at 22:00
While Real Madrid are at home to Getafe on Monday night, Los Blancos will hope to get back on track in their pursuit of the La Liga title ahead of Matchday 27 when they face Celta Vigo at Balaidos on Friday night.
Madrid will feature in two La Liga bouts this week, first against Getafe, before moving onto their Celta Vigo test on away grounds.
As it stands, second-placed Real Madrid are four points behind log leaders Barcelona after 25 matches played but could go within one point of the summit with a win against Getafe. Madrid suffered an uncharacteristic 2-1 loss against Osasuna during Matchday 25 as their four-match winning streak in La Liga came to an end.
The popular European giants are facing mounting criticism from supporters this season, following an indifferent first-half of the 2025/26 campaign. With Barcelona pushing the pace, Los Blancos are hoping to claim their first league title since the 2023/25 season.
Celta Vigo on the other hand, are eyeing a place in European competition for next season. Currently in sixth on the log, Celta Vigo accumulated 40 points from 26 matches so far.
More encouragingly, Celta Vigo are unbeaten in their last two league matches after recording wins against Mallorca and Girona, respectively. Overall, Vigo recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five outings.

Speaking after Madrid’s defeat against Osasuna, Alvaro Arbeloa lamented his side’s performance, claiming that Los Blancos lacked control and speed on the ball.
“Poor match. We can do better. It's not easy playing from Wednesday to Sunday, but that's how it is. It wasn't a good game for us,” Arbeloa said.
“They scored two goals with their only two shots on target, but I think we can do much better. We have to play better, with more intensity, because that's what's expected of us. We lacked control and speed in our ball circulation.
“It's a matter of strategy. If we're not at our best, anyone can beat us.”
