With Inter Milan holding a strong position at the top of the Serie A table, the Italian giants will now look forward to hosting Cagliari on home soil this Friday.
As it stands, Inter sits in first position on the log with 70 points from 32 games played so far. The iconic Serie A outfit showcased grit during a 4-3 win over Como last time out, closing a 2-0 deficit on away soil to open a nine-point gap over second-placed Napoli last Sunday.
Overall, Inter has recorded back-to-back wins in Serie A, with two wins, two draws and one defeat in their last five outings as they push to win their first Scudetto since the 2023/4 season.
Cagliari faces a different prospect entirely as they head into their next game sitting six points above the relegation zone.
Following a run of four consecutive defeats, Cagliari returned to winning ways during Matchday 32 with a 1-0 win over Cremonese, moving into 16th place on the table.
As for their form, Cagliari has recorded one win and four losses in their previous five encounters, accumulating 33 points from 32 fixtures.

Speaking after Inter’s win over Como, Cristian Chivu lauded his side’s level of character while expressing the need to remain ‘ambitious’ during the dying stages of the campaign.
“We need to understand that we must stay ambitious,” Chivu said.
“We came into the game with the knowledge that we could extend our lead, but at the start, we were surprised by their intensity.
“We then showed our maturity and character”.
