La Liga
Matchday 9
Real Betis vs Barcelona
Estadio de La Cartuja
Seville, Spain
Saturday, 17 October 2026
Kick-off is at 18:30
As Barcelona continue their blistering start to the 2026/27 La Liga campaign, Hansi Flick’s side could make it nine wins on the trot when they travel to face Real Betis in their next league assignment.
Barcelona sit comfortably at the top of the La Liga pile after eight matches played with 24 points following a 100%-win rate. The Catalan giants last saw out a 3-0 win over Getafe and are now five points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid.
With 34 goals scored and only seven conceded, Barcelona won their first eight league games for just the second-time in their history as Flick equalled Gerardo Martino’s achievement during the 2013/14 campaign.
Betis have likewise enjoyed a fruitful start to the season and are in third position, five points off the summit.
Following their 5-2 victory over Osasuna last Sunday, Betis recorded their sixth win of the campaign and are now unbeaten in their last five La Liga assignments.
Betis last tasted defeat on 29 August, when they suffered a 5-2 loss against Levante on away soil in what was their only loss of the current campaign overall.

Speaking after Barcelona’s win over Getafe, striker Gabriel Jesus expressed that Flick instills a great deal of confidence into his players and that he adjusted well to the team given the talent at their disposal.
"Playing with these players is very easy,” Jesus said.
“They all play very well and always have the ball. That makes it much easier for me, since I am a striker, to have scoring chances, and there I am ready to score goals.
"I think Flick gives a lot of confidence to all the players”.
