The Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets will renew their rivalry with an NBA Regular Season meeting, slated for the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on the morning of Saturday 11 December 2021. Tip-off is at 02:30.
The Hawks have hovered around a .500 record through this season thus, leaving them in lower mid-table on the Eastern Conference and in need of a run of form to push themselves higher up the table. However, such a run did not begin this past weekend when they were beaten 98-96 by the Philadelphia 76ers.

"We had some shots that just didn't go in, but you have to give credit to them," Trae Young said. "They out-physicaled us in the fourth quarter."
Coach Nate McMillan added, “We need a spark. We need some energy to lift us, and we need some guys that’ll go out there and defend.”
The Nets, meanwhile, have established themselves as the top team in the Eastern Conference, and this past weekend saw them defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 110-105, with 30 points from Kevin Durant – including the clinching jumper with 11 seconds left on the clock.

"We stayed with our defence," Durant said. "We made them shoot over us. We got stops [and] we were able to make shots down the stretch. I know how important the fourth quarter is, especially in a tight game. I was able to get to my spots in the fourth and knock some in."
In head-to-head stats, the Hawks and the Nets have met in 186 Regular Season games since 1976-77, with Atlanta claiming 102 wins compared to 84 for Brooklyn. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in November 2021, with the Nets winning 117-108 at home thanks to 32 points from Kevin Durant.
