The World Does Battle As Confederations Clash…

Hi guys, it’s me again! The season is almost, almost at an end now… The big leagues have finished, the international qualifiers are out of the way, and there’s just one tournament left, the FIFA Confederations Cup. Russia, in a warm-up for the 2018 World Cup, host the winners from seven continental competitions across four cities as we look to find the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Germany will be one of favourites having actually won the World Cup in 2014, however their young squad – nobody is over 29 – is far from the strongest that is available to them. Cristiano Ronaldo travels with the champions of Europe, Portugal, while Chile will also be one of the main contenders following their impressive showing in the Copa America. The first round of games will see Russia take on New Zealand, Portugal face Mexico, Cameroon do battle with Chile and Australia try their luck against Germany. A nice little four-way accumulator that I’ll be putting on is for Russia, Portugal, Chile and Germany to come away victorious. It’s not a massive return, but the odds are good given the calibre of the teams involved. R500 down on that four-game accy would bag you about R10k. For a little bit of a South African flavour, I’m also having a flutter on Michael Boxall finding the back of the net against the Russians. Look, he’s never scored for the Kiwis but he’s the only Absa Premiership-based player at the tournament and I’m feeling sentimental. A R50 bet wins you nearly R1000 too, so I reckon it’s worth it. As I’ve said before, I always put on the bets that I write about here, so if we win then we win together, but if we lose then it’s affecting my back pocket too! Don’t forget to click the banners on this page to head to my specific picks, and if you’re new to signing up then use my code ‘Joe’ and there will be some nice specials for you going forward! Good luck!
