South Africa will take on Bangladesh in the second match of the Sunfoil two-test series between 6 and 10 October 2017 in Bloemfontein. The Proteas won by 333 runs in the first test match which was recently played at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. Dean Elgar, the South African batsman, was deservedly named man of the match after making 199 runs for the hosts.

Dane Paterson has been included in the Proteas squad. He replaces Morne Morkel, who sustained a Grade two tear to the left abdominal oblique muscle in the first test match. The Tigers will look to Keshav Maharaj, who was one of their best players as Bangladesh looked to defeat the Proteas in South Africa for the first time in test cricket. The bowler finished with first test match figures of 7/117 following his second innings efforts of 4/25 from 10.1 overs.
