Ferrari's Carlos Sainz will be looking to challenge for another podium placing in the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday, September 4.

The Spaniard started in pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix but wasn't able to keep pace with the Red Bull drivers after pitting on lap 12.

Sainz held on for P3 as he finished nine seconds behind Sergio Perez to stand on the podium for the seventh time this season - his first since winning the British Grand Prix.

The 27-year-old narrowed the gap to Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc to 15 points in fourth place and he believes they will bounce back at the Circuit Zandvoort, which doesn't favour the Red Bull cars as much.

"I think it's a one-off. I think they just had a super-strong weekend," Sainz told Sky Sports F1. "We had a bit of a weaker one on a track that probably didn't suit us a lot.

"So we need to analyse why and take some conclusions, but on our race we did everything we could do today but we were just not fast enough.

"I think at Zandvoort we can be back on form and beat Red Bull again. I'm not particularly worried about that. I think we just had a bit of a difficult weekend and this track was perfectly suited to Red Bull.

"I think Zandvoort is a better hunting ground for us and we should be stronger there. It doesn't mean we should beat Red Bull or comfortably beat them, but get back in the fight? I am convinced we should."
