George Russell will be determined to continue improving his form by recording his second victory of the current season at the
Singapore Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver secured a podium spot at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on 21 September, the most recent race on the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Russell started on the fifth grid and went on to finish second, achieving his 22nd podium and collecting 18 points from the event held in Baku.
Formula One title ambitions
The two-time Junior European Championship winner remains fourth in the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 212 points.
Russell is now 43 points behind third-placed Verstappen of Red Bull Racing and 112 points behind leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren.
Why Russell could win the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix
After losing form midway through the current season, the 2024 Lorenzo Bandini Trophy winner has secured two podium finishes in his last four races and he has also won the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix.
Russell, who finished fourth in the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, has what it takes to win this weekend's race and close the gap on Verstappen in a bid to secure a top-three finish in the World Drivers' Championship standings.
What did he say?
"I am really happy to be back on the podium. It’s been a tough run of races recently and I also have not felt well this weekend. That made today even more challenging than it could have been, so I am very pleased to finish P2," Russell said after finishing second at the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
"I was pretty glad when I saw the chequered flag! Congratulations to Carlos (Sainz) and Williams, too. That was a very well-deserved result for them. On our side, the car felt great throughout and Kimi (Antonelli) did a superb job to bring home P4, too. Those is important points for the team as we look to battle Ferrari and Red Bull for second in the Constructors’ Championship.
"Hopefully we can build on this result over what is sure to be a tight battle across the final seven races of the season."
