The 2026 Italian MotoGP will take centre stage at the iconic Mugello Circuit this weekend, with home fans ready to roar for their heroes.
What to know about the Italian MotoGP
Held at Mugello since 1991, the Italian MotoGP—also known as the Brembo Grand Prix of Italy—is one of the calendar’s crown jewels.
The 5.245 km track features 15 turns, a long 1.141 km main straight, dramatic elevation changes, and high-speed sweeping corners that demand perfect bravery and precision.
It is a true riders’ circuit and a favourite among fans for its electric Tuscan atmosphere.

Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina VR46 Ducati) took a thrilling victory, ahead of Fermín Aldeguer (Gresini Ducati) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) in third.
Standings
Marco Bezzecchi leads the 2026 MotoGP riders’ standings with 142 points, 15 points ahead of teammate Jorge Martin.
Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Ducati) sits third on 116 points, with Pedro Acosta (KTM) in fourth.
Aprilia has dominated the early season, placing them at the top of the constructors' standings ahead of Ducati and KTM respectively.
Favourites
All eyes will be on championship leaders Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin, alongside home favourite Fabio Di Giannantonio as local support will be massive for the Italians.
Pedro Acosta and Ai Ogura will be in the mix, while Marc Marquez’s return remains uncertain after his recent injuries.

“It’s never easy to race in situations like this. Obviously, we are professional riders and we know how to separate emotions," Aldeguer said after his second-place finish at the 2026 Catalan MotoGP.
"...We did a good race, in many ways unexpected, but we took twenty very important points. We are not yet fully fit physically, but morale is high after this podium. Now we are waiting for Alex (Marquez) to come back to us at 100%.”
