Golden Lions will take on the Pumas in the 2017 Currie Cup match at the Emirates Airline match on Saturday. Lions were defeated 30-24 by Free State Cheetahs away in their previous Currie Cup match at the Toyota Stadium last weekend. Prior to their clash with Cheetahs, Lions were hammered 39-3 by Western Province at the DHL Newlands almost two weeks ago.
As a result, Lions are placed seventh on the Currie Cup standings with 10 points and they are three points behind sixth-placed Bulls. Meanwhile, Pumas overcame Bulls 51-15 in their previous Currie Cup match at the Mbombela Stadium last week. The Pumas had recorded a 27-21 victory over Griquas at the Tafel Lager Stadium over a week ago, before facing Bulls.
The two results left Pumas placed fourth on the Currie Cup standings with 15 points and they are two points behind third-placed Western Province.
