With the 2025 Women’s Euros set to commence in Switzerland, the host nation will get proceedings underway against Norway in their first Group A assignment at the St. Jakob-Park Stadium on Wednesday night.
Switzerland will feature in their third Euro’s championship this year, after qualifying for the group stages in both 2017 and 2022. Norway on the other hand, are two-time winners of the showpiece, after lifting the trophy in 1987 and 193 respectively.
Nicknamed ‘La Nati’, or simply ‘Red Crosses’, Switzerland have been drawn alongside Iceland, Norway and Finland in Group A.
Reflecting on the upcoming tournament, Switzerland star figure Alisha Lehmann believes that the atmosphere will be ‘fantastic’ given the Red Crosses’ privilege to play in front of their adoring supporters.
"The atmosphere at the tournament was fantastic – I hope we can experience similar emotions here in Switzerland,” Lehman said.
“It's something very special to be able to play in a home tournament. I'm really looking forward to it.”
