The 2022/23 season saw Denver Nuggets clinch an elusive maiden
National Basketball Association (NBA) championship.
How Nuggets Reached The Playoffs
The Nuggets booked their place in the Playoffs after finishing at the top of the Western Conference standings.
The team from Denver recorded 53 victories and 29 defeats from 82 matches during their regular season under coach Michael Malone's guidance.
The team boasted a 64.6 winning percentage.
Road To The Finals
The Nuggets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference First-Round before overcoming the Phoenix Suns 4-2 in the Semi-Finals.
Malone's side then proved too strong for LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers in the Conference Finals as they emerged as 4-0 winners.
They were crowned champions of the NBA after defeating Miami Heat 4-1 in the Playoffs Finals.
Star Players
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were the Nuggets' standout performers. Murray averaged 21.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game in the Finals.
The point guard joined James, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to average at least 20 points and 10 assists per game in a Finals series.
While Jokic was a consistent performer throughout the entire season and the center was nominated for the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award as a reward for his consistency.

"We accomplished something this franchise has never done before, but we have a lot of young, talented players in that locker room.
"And I think we just showed through 16 playoff wins what we're capable of on the biggest stage in the world."
