What to know about Vingegaard
The Danish professional cyclist won the 2022 edition of the Tour de France - beating defending champion Tadej Pogačar to the title.
Vingegaard gained international recognition at the 2021 Tour de France after attacking Mont Ventoux.
He dropped race leader and eventual winner Pogačar and finished second in the general classification.

The Hillerslev-born star has been a consistent performer at the ongoing 2023 Tour de France.
Vingegaard is currently placed at the top of the General classification (Yellow Jersey) standings as he targets his second Tour de France win.
He is a clear favourate to win the competition having led the General classification (Yellow Jersey) standings since stage six.

“It was a very hot day and very very steep [on the climb],” Vingegaard said after stage nine of the 2023 Tour de France.
“But it was still a nice experience to go out and race on the Puy de Dôme, it's a really nice climb.
"Actually I felt quite okay [in the heat] but as I said before, I think these kinds of stages suit him a bit better than me and I just had to try to follow him and yeah, he was just a bit better than me again today.”
