Chelsea will face their first real test in pre-season when they take on Premier League rivals Arsenal in the Florida Cup on Sunday, July 24.

The Blues embarked on their USA tour last week and opened proceedings with a 2-1 victory over Mexican outfit Club America in the Clash of Nations series at the weekend.

Next up for Thomas Tuchel's side is a clash against Charlotte FC on Thursday before they lock horns with their city neighbours in Orlando three days later.

The two London clubs are fairly evenly matched in recent head-to-head meetings, with the Blues winning four of their last 10 contests, while the Gunners triumphed on five occasions.

Their most recent encounter saw Arsenal emerge 4-2 victors at Stamford Bridge on April 20 in the Premier League after Chelsea won the reverse fixture 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on August 22.

Tuchel was pleased to kick off pre-season with a win against an Eagles team who are in the middle of their domestic campaign.

After a goalless first half in Paradise, Nevada, Timo Werner opened the scoring in the 55th minute before an own-goal from Reece James restored parity five minutes later. However, Mason Mount struck in the 83rd minute to secure victory for the west Londoners.

"It was a very difficult match against very difficult opponents in an environment like playing in a full stadium," Tuchel said.

"The first half was tough for us to create clear chances, we couldn't score but kept a clean sheet and the second half we found better solutions, and looked more dangerous.

"So a very good second half, a good first half. We deserved to win and I'm happy that we took that."
