Dodgers look to beat Rays to clinch World Series title

Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking to clinch the 2020 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series title by defeating Tampa Bay Rays.
 
The Dodgers are currently leading 3-2 against the Rays in a best-of-seven playoff tie. 
 
Game Six is scheduled to be played on Tuesday, October 27 and the Dodgers will be crowned 2020 MLB World Series champions if they secure a win.
 
The series began on Tuesday, October 20, with a potential Game Seven scheduled to be played on Wednesday, October 28 if the Rays win on Game Six.

Game One saw the Dodgers as a team tie New York Giants (1912) for most stolen bases in a single World Series inning, with three after defeating the Rays 8-3.
 
However, the Rays got their revenge in Game Two as they emerged 6-4 winners over the Dodgers to make it 1-1 in the series.
 
The Dodgers struck out 15 times in the game, tying the World Series franchise record set in the 18-inning third game of the 2018 World Series.

The Rays' first baseman Ji-man Choi became the first Korean-born player to record a hit in the World Series.
 
The Dodgers then won 6-2 to take a 2-1 lead in the series in Game Three, before the Rays made it 2-2 after securing an 8-7 victory in Game Four.

Game Five saw the Dodgers regain the lead after they defeating the Rays 4-2 and they will be looking to clinch the World Series title by winning the next game.
 
Blake Treinen, the Dodgers pitcher, has lauded his teammate Clayton Kershaw, who recently tied Greg Maddux for second place all-time with 11 Game 1 starts in the postseason. 
 
“Kersh, a lot of credit goes to him for what we’ve been able to do in this World Series,” Treinen said. 
 
“There’s a tough narrative on him. He’s a phenomenal pitcher on the biggest stage.”
