The 2017 Japanese Grand Prix is set to be held on Saturday at the Suzuka International Racing Course in Suzuka in the Mie Prefecture, Japan.

This will be the sixteenth round of the 2017 Formula One World Championship and marks the forty-second running of the Japanese Grand Prix. Britain's Lewis Hamilton, who drives a Mercedes, comes into this round with a thirty-four point lead over German Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari on the World drivers' championship table.

Mercedes are currently at the top of the World Constructors' Championship standings with 503 points. Second-placed Ferrari have 385 points, while third-placed Red Bull Racing-TAG Heuer have accumulated 270 points. Hamilton saw his three-race win streak snapped by Red Bull's Dutch driver Max Verstappen at the Malaysian Grand Prix last weekend. The race for this year's Formula One World Championship title is intensifying with five races left.
