Viktor Hovland will be hoping to make history by becoming the first Norwegian to win the
BMW Championship title.
What to know about Hovland
The Oslo-born star is among the top golfers in the world at the moment and he has already won eight professional tournaments at the age of 25.
Hovland became the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour (at the 2020 Puerto Rico Open) and on the European Tour (at the 2021 BMW International Open).
His best performance in a golf major came at the 2023 PGA Championship when he finished second behind champion Brooks Koepka.

Hovland was in action at the recent 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee, USA where he secured a top-15 finish as he finished 13th.
The 2018 US Amateur champion is currently placed fifth on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall ranking is third place.
Why Hovland is one of the favourites
Hovland is playing some of his best golf at the moment having secured a 13th-spot finish in his last two PGA events namely St. Jude Championship and Open Championship.
The former Oklahoma State University student has already tasted success this year having clinched the Memorial Tournament in June.
He will now be keen to clinch the BWM Championship.

“It’s fun to win one of these things without just ball-striking it to death. Now I can rely on some other strengths as well,” Hovland said after winning the 2023 Memorial Tournament.
“It’s a bit surreal right now. Playing Jack [Nicklaus]’s course and playing his tournament and winning it, and for him to be able to see it.
"He just shook my hand and gave me a couple of words of encouragement. That’s pretty awesome.”
