Advantage Baroka In PSL Promotion Playoff

PSL Promotion Playoffs

Match 4

Baroka FC v Stellenbosch FC

Saturday, 10 June 2017
Peter Mokaba Stadium,
15h00 CAT afternoon.

Victor Letsoalo was the hero for Bakgaga, with his two first-half goals proving enough to overcome Lidoda Duvha - even though goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke had a meltdown in the second half to allow their opponents back into the game.

Baroka, as a result of their win, top the table with four points at the halfway mark. Stellenbosch have two points, while Leopards bring up the rear with a single point to their name. If Kgoloko Thobejane’s team can claim a second straight home win, it will put them on the verge of securing PSL football in 2017/18.As for Stellenbosch, successive draws against Baroka (2-2) and Leopards (0-0) represent a solid start to the Playoffs, but they must search out a victory to bring themselves into contention.

“It’s been a tough, demanding last few days, but we now have a few days of rest before we get back into action,” said Stellies coach Sammy Troughton after the stalemate against Lidoda Duvha. “It’s some time for the guys to recover and then we will have to come out with more attacking intent against Baroka. “I’ve told the players that, in this competition, we are going to have to be mentally strong. Baroka will be tough on Saturday, but we will have to be ready.”
