The Golden State Warriors will chase a victory over hosts the Denver Nuggets when the teams meet for a 2020-21 NBA Regular Season game at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on the morning of 15 January 2021, tip-off at 05:00 CAT.
The Warriors will be hoping Stephen Curry can continue the excellent form he has shown so far this season, with the point guard particularly impressive in scoring 38 points against the Los Angeles Clippers last weekend.
"Number one, because he's Steph Curry," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "There's not too much you have to say beyond it's just who Steph is. He's been doing this for many, many years and one of the reasons he's a two-time MVP and he's a phenomenal basketball player.
"And usually with Steph when he has a tough game he bounces back [in] the next one. That's part of his character, part of his competitiveness. He found something out there, he found some openings, and got himself going."
The Nuggets, meanwhile, have been in solid form and recently snapped the Philadelphia 76ers winning streak to underline how much of a threat they are this season. Their strength on the bench has been particularly influential.
“We huddle up before the tipoff and just say let’s be better than the other team’s bench,” reserve Monte Morris said. “Let’s go out there and try to bring the energy and if the starters start slow let’s pick them up ,and if they start fast let’s sustain whatever they got going on.”
In head-to-head terms, the Nuggets and Warriors have met in 178 Regular Season games since 1976-77. The Denver franchise has claimed 96 wins compared to Golden State's 82.
The teams last met in the Regular Season in March 2020, with the Warriors claiming a 116-110 away win, inspired by 22 points from Andrew Wiggins.
