Villarreal vs Levante
Villarreal will target three points when they face Levante at Estadio de la Ceramica on the afternoon of Saturday 2 January 2021, kick-off at 15:00. The match is one of 10 spread over 2-4 January as part of Matchday 17 in the
2020-21 LaLiga season.
Villarreal recorded a third successive home draw when they were held 1-1 at the Ceramica by Athletic Bilbao on December 22, with Yeremi Pino scoring a 74th-minute equaliser to cancel out an opener from Inaki Williams. The result secured a club-record 19th game without defeat.
"We have a high accumulation of minutes and effort," said Villarreal manager Unai Emery of his team's output in recent weeks. "A tough calendar is coming. We must gather our strength and continue to do the things we have done so well this season."
Levante's last away outing saw them held 1-1 at Huesca on December 22, with Gonzalo Melero levelling the game after Javi Ontiveros' penalty opener.
"It is very difficult to win in LaLiga, we have had teams in front of us which are very difficult to beat," said Levante manager Paco Lopez. "The team has shown discipline and resilience, but we need to keep it up and hopefully have a little more luck."

In head-to-head stats, Villarreal and Levante have met in 32 matches across all competitions since 1996. The Yellow Submarine have 20 wins compared to eight for the Granotas, while four games have been drawn.
The teams traded home wins last season, with Levante triumphing 2-1 at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia in August 2019, while the return game at the Ceramica in February 2020 ended 2-1 in favour of Villarreal thanks to goals from Gerard Moreno and Moises Gomez.
