Following a positive start to the 2026/27 Serie A campaign, Inter Milan and Napoli will now reignite their rivalry when they do battle at San Siro on Saturday evening.
The reigning Serie A champions started their season with back-to-back wins in their first two assignments and sit at the top of the pile once more on six points.
Inter got their Serie A campaign underway in stunning fashion, claiming a 4-1 win over Monza on home soil. The Italian giants backed the result up with a narrow 1-0 away with over Cagliari to maintain their 100%-win rate.
Napoli on the other hand, will head into the next match on the back of a 2-1 defeat over Como as they sit in 11th position on the log.
The 2024/25 league winners were unable to build on their 2-0 win over Genoa on the opening day as they trail the table toppers early on.
Reflecting on the upcoming game against Napoli, Inter coach Cristian Chivu spoke of the seriousness in taking on the former league champions as a tough opponent.
"We know what kind of match it will be against Napoli,” Chivu said.
“A great team that won the league two years ago and finished second last year. We know how much both teams care about it."
