The Seagulls have made an impressive start to the campaign and a stoppage-time equaliser from Neal Maupay earned them a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Monday evening. The result moved the club level on 13 points with five other teams and just a point behind league leaders Liverpool at this early stage of the season.

Arsenal recovered from three league defeats to start the season with three league wins on the bounce, the most recent of which a morale-boosting 3-1 victory over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

"This win is for the fans. They were there when we needed their support. We started really strongly and were determined. In the second half we had to do what we had to do," Gunners manager Mikel Arteta said in the aftermath.

"It's a special day. Today is one example of what we want to do. But we have to be consistent.

"We had great determination, great energy and great quality. I really enjoyed it. I see the belief the players have in what we do. They have the quality to put it into practice," Arteta added.

Arsenal took six points off Brighton last season. Alexandre Lacazette fired the Gunners to a 1-0 win at the Amex before a 2-0 win at Emirates Stadium in the reverse fixture. Nicolas Pepe scored both goals for Arteta's men in north London.
