The Eagles were hammered 3-0 by Huddersfield on the opening day of the season but got revenge a month later knocking them out of the League Cup with a 1-0 win.

They pair have two wins apiece from five top-flight encounters, the last two both going the way of West Brom. Ahmed Hegazi scored the only goal of the game, on his debut when the sides last faced on the opening day.

The Hornets have never recorded a victory at Anfield though in the modern era and their away form this season alone has been equally worrying. They have not won away from Vicarage Road since beating Newcastle in November – a run which could stretch to 10 games this weekend. Sadio Mane scored twice in a 6-1 romping for the Reds the last time Watford made their way to Merseyside.
