Villarreal CF will battle it out with CA Osasuna in a
Spanish La Liga match at their temporary home ground,
Estadio Ciudad de Valencia on October 17.
The Yellow Submarine suffered a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad away in their previous league game which was played on October 9.
The defeat extended Villarreal's winless run to four matches in this competition having recorded two successive draws and two defeats.
However, the Yellow Submarine are undefeated in their last two matches at home in La Liga having registered one draw and one victory as the hosts.
"There were two match plans conditioned by Real Sociedad. In the first half we played further back than we wanted to and it was difficult for us to get out," Unai Emery, the Villarreal manager, said.
"The key was to get on the counter-attack and we didn't. In the second half we had to do something else. In the second half we had to do something else. We tried to go forward and open the game up a bit more.
"We had our chances, but they didn't go in. Our first half was poor and I take responsibility for that. We weren't able to hurt them. They were better than us throughout the game."

Meanwhile, Osasuna succumbed to a slender 2-1 loss to Valencia CF at home in their previous league game which was played on October 7.
As a result, the Little Reds are winless in their last three matches in this competition having recorded one draw and two defeats.
However, Osasuna are undefeated in their last two matches on the road in La Liga having registered one win and one draw as the visitors.
The last league meeting between Villarreal and Osasuna was on 5 March 2022.
Osasuna emerged as 1-0 winners over Villarreal in a match that took place at Estadio El Sadar which was known as Reyno de Navarra from 2005 to 2011.
