With the NBA Western Conference semi-finals heading toward a dramatic finish, the Minnesota Timberwolves will hope to tie the series against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
As Game Six approaches, the Timberwolves could tie the exciting series at 3-3 following their 126-97 defeat against the San Antonio Spurs at the Frost Bank Center on Wednesday.
The Timberwolves were led by Anthony Edwards who recorded a 20-point haul, while Jaden McDaniels and Julius Randles scored 17 points each.
Additionally, the Timberwolves finished sixth in the Western Conference after securing 49 wins, holding a 31-21 record against conference opponents.
Following their Game Five defeat against the Spurs, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch accused referee Tony Brothers of ignoring his call for a timeout in the fourth quarter, an incident that led to a heated exchange courtside.
“Pretty unprofessional, huh?” Finch said.
“I wanted the time out. I had called it three seconds earlier, and I wanted the timeout. I said. ‘I want my three seconds back.’ Because he clearly heard me. He looked my way, ignored me, went on with the play, and then gave me it. It almost cost us the turnover.”
