World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will be hoping this is his year as he finally looks to add the Houston Open to his list of PGA Tour wins.
The American, who resides in the Lone Star State, has played in this event every year since joining the Tour in 2020, and he's finished T2 three times (2021, 2024, 2025).
Scheffler started the year with a bang by winning the American Express before claiming a T3 at the Phoenix Open and a T4 at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
But the 29-year-old hasn't been at his best recently and admitted to having issues with his driver, while his iron play is also noticeably poorer.
After his T24 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Scheffler shot over par in the opening two rounds at the Players Championship before making a bogey-free 67 in the third round.
The four-time Major winner did acknowledge some struggles at TPC Sawgrass, but felt his swing improved during the tournament.
"The first two days were a bit of a battle," Scheffler said. "I was a little sharper today than I was the first two days.
"I felt like I was swinging it better each day of the tournament. Today hit a few more fairways and was able to give myself a few more looks for birdie."
