The World Cup in Qatar is set to kick-off on the 20th of November as 32 teams battle it out to be crowned the best in the world. From the 20th this month to the 18th of December, supporters will be spoilt with endless international football entertainment. 

Africa is strongly represented in the World Cup, even with the notable absence of 2010 hosts, Bafana Bafana. Despite some glorious efforts by African teams in the past, the continent's recent record at the tournament has needed an improvement. Will we finally see an African team make the Semi-Finals?
 

The Turffontein meeting originally scheduled for last Saturday was postponed to today, Friday, 18 November. The race times have been changed and the first of 10 races will take place at 14:50. They’ll race into the evening and under lights until 8pm.
