Red Bull Racing-Honda will be out to extend their run of victories in the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship when Round 8, the Stryian Grand Prix, is held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria on the afternoon of Sunday 27 June.

Red Bull have won three successive races for the first time in the ‘hybrid era’ (2014 onwards) of F1, after Max Verstappen claimed victory at Paul Ricard in the French Grand Prix this past weekend. The Dutchman used his superior speed and fresher tyres to make up for a mistake at the start and an extra pit stop, while teammate Sergio Perez used a one-stop strategy to come home in third and see his team enjoy a 37-point lead over Mercedes in the Constructors’ Championship.

"Really unbelievable. It's payback for what happened earlier this year though. It's terrible to be in the lead in the race and that you still have a long way to go. We finally made the decision and went for the two-stop," said Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.

"Fortunately, that paid off. It really was a phenomenal Grand Prix and also great from Sergio that he made the one-stopper work. A great team performance todayIt's really a team effort. The people at the strategy team look at the data and make the decision. We didn't want to put ourselves in the situation again, like in Barcelona. That's what we did and it paid off."

Red Bull now head to their ‘home ground’ in Spielberg for back-to-back races in the Styrian and Austrian Grands Prix, with the form of Perez aiding in their attempt to wrestle both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles from Mercedes.

We worked relatively early in this direction by leaving Perez out longer. So without Perez, if he wasn't so open-minded, we wouldn't have been able to do the whole thing,” said Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko.
