Meanwhile, Inter Milan will take on fellow league title contenders Napoli SSC at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on December 16.

Inter, who are placed second on the Serie A standings, extended their unbeaten run to seven league matches when they thrashed Cagliari 3-1 in their last game.

They will be up against a Napoli side which is oozing with confidence after securing a 2-1 win over Sampdoria in their previous match and they are placed third on the league table.

The last Serie A meeting between the two teams was in July 2020 with Inter recording a 2-0 victory over Napoli.

Lastly, defending league champions Juventus are set to take on Atalanta in a league match at the Allianz Stadium on December 16.

Juventus, who are placed fourth on the Serie A standings, boast of an 11-match unbeaten run in the league having registered a 3-1 win over Genoa in their previous game.

Their opponents Atalanta, who are placed eighth on the league table, are coming off a comfortable 3-0 victory over Fiorentina in their last encounter in this competition.

The two teams played to a 2-2 draw in the last Serie A meeting between Juventus and Atalanta in July 2020.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Juventus winger, believes the team is on the right path following their win over Genoa.

“The goal is to win, always. After beating a team like Barcelona, you find confidence and the strength to overcome even a team like Genoa, which had a very defensive attitude," Ronaldo said.

"After the Champions League it's always tough, but the coach made us understand that we had to change and we did it.

"Every year, Juve's goal is to win the league title and the Champions League, only one team succeeds, but we are confident and convinced that we can win something important.”
