Real Madrid will chase a key advantage when they welcome Bayern Munich to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal on the evening of Tuesday 7 April 2026, kick-off at 21:00.
Real secured their place in the final eight of the continental competition with a 5-1 aggregate win over Manchester City in the previous round. Federico Valverde scored a hat-trick in a first-leg 3-0 home win, while Vinicius Jr netted both goals in a 2-1 triumph in the return game in Manchester.

Los Blancos are chasing a record-extending 16th European Cup/Champions League title, and right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold – in his first season with the Spanish giants – is enjoying the weight of expectation that comes with being Real Madrid at this stage of the competition.
"It’s the most important time of the season,” explained the former Liverpool player. “Every game is kind of a cup final now, but there’s an expectation at this club to go far in this competition and win it. There's an expectation, and we thrive on that, and it brings the best out of us.”
Real come into the match on the back of a disappointing 2-1 loss to Mallorca on Saturday which has severely dented their hopes of winning back La Liga. They will continue to be without key men Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo due to long-term injuries.
