Kick-off is at 21h00

Valencia CF will face off with Sevilla FC in a Spanish La Liga match at the Estadio de Mestalla on April 16.

Current Form

The Bats succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to UD Almeria away on April 9 and the defeat extended their winless run to three matches in the league.

However, Valencia are undefeated in their last three matches at home having recorded one draw and two successive wins at the Estadio de Mestalla.

While Sevilla were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo at home on April 16 and they are undefeated in their last two games in La Liga.

Sevillistas defeated Cadiz CF in their last game on the road and the win ended their eight-match winless run as the away side.

What Is At Stake

Valencia are in the relegation zone - occupying the 18th spot on the league standings with 27 points from 28 matches.

However, the Bats will climb out of the relegation zone if they defeat Sevilla and the other results go their way.

On the other hand, Sevilla are placed 13th on the standings - five points above the relegation zone and they will be desperate for a win when they face Valencia.

Team News

Valencia have no injury concerns coming into their game against Sevilla, but Jaume Doménech is suspended.

While Sevilla also do not have injury worries, but Alex Telles and Marcos Acuna are both suspended.

Key Players

Justin Kluivert, who has scored twice in his last four La Liga matches, could be the player to inspire Valencia to a win over Sevilla.

Valencia manager Ruben Baraja will be wary of Sevilla's top scorer Youssef En-Nesyri who has found the back of the net seven times in the league in the current campaign.

Quotes

"This is a fight we need them to be with us in. It is a difficult situation and with them we are stronger and we can change the situation," Baraja said after their clash with Almeria.

"There are 10 games left and 30 points at stake. Despite the two things that could be greatly improved today, the team has improved and had chances to go ahead. We have to keep working and believing that we can turn it around.

"We want the fans to continue with us and continue to believe in us. We thank the fans who came to this game, with a lot at stake, and whom we were not able to make happy. We have to hold on to the positives, to our hard work, to our fans and keep believing."

Head-to-Head

Valencia and Sevilla drew 1-1 in their last meeting in La Liga and the game took place at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on 18 October 2022.

Therefore, Bats are undefeated in their seven league games against Sevillistas having recorded three draws and four wins over their top-flight rivals.
