Following yet another frustrating result during Matchday 25 in the Italian Serie A, reigning league champions will now brace themselves for a stern test against Atalanta this coming weekend.
Napoli will head into their next league assignment on the back of a 2-2 stalemate with Roma, in a game that took place at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona last Sunday.
The result saw Napoli record their fifth draw of the 2025/26 campaign, while their two-match winning streak came to an end. Napoli are now 11 points away from log leaders Inter and jotted down three wins, one draw and one defeat in their last five matches.
Atalanta’s fortunes have been slightly better of late after noting wins against Cremonese and Lazio in their last two fixtures. The popular Italian side are on a quest to qualify for a place in European football next season and currently occupy sixth on the log.
Following a run of three wins and two stalemates in their last five, Atalanta accumulated 42 points after 25 games played and are now seven points from their upcoming opponents.

Speaking on Napoli’s season overall, coach Antonio Conte conceded that his side could well be out of the race for the Scudetto this season given the likes of Inter and AC Milan’s run this far.
"We've got to continue, knowing that we are building our future in the next 13 games, so what we have next season will depend on what we do in these 13 games, and what European competition we manage to qualify for,” Conte said following his side’s 2-2 draw with AS Roma.
"It won't be easy, as the other teams in the race are well-drilled and have resources, but we are pushing beyond our boundaries."
