With Pisa facing the imminent prospect of relegation from Serie A, Oscar Hiljemark and his players will now shift their focus to Torino on home soil this Sunday.

As it stands, Pisa are rock bottom on the Serie A table after collecting just 18 points from 30 matches played as the month of April approaches.

Pisa last recorded a mammoth 5-0 loss against Como last time out, in a match that took place at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on 22 March. In effect, Pisa have now recorded 16 losses this season, with only two wins to their name so far.

Over the last five matches, Pisa noted four defeats and one victory, with their latest win coming by way of a 3-1 result against Cagliari on 15 March. Nonetheless, Pisa will go into their next game sitting nine points from safety.

Torino have likewise battled with inconsistent results this season and are currently 14th with 33 points from 30 matches.

The Turin side suffered a 3-2 loss against AC Milan last time out, taking their record to two wins and three defeats in their previous five league ties. Statistically speaking, Torino have one of the worst defensive records this season after conceding 53 goals in 30 matches. Torino conceded the second most goals during the 2025/26 campaign, only to be topped by Pisa who have let in 54 so far.

Speaking after Pisa’s disappointing loss to Como, Oscar Hiljemark expressed that his side’s ‘mentality’ will not change during the closing stages of the season.

“There are eight games left. Five of them against teams close to us in the standings,” Hiljemark said.

“However, we have to play for our pride, our fans, and our club. We knew it would be difficult to get points in this match.

“Our mentality remains unchanged regarding the future”.
