Bayer Leverkusen will face Bayern Munich in a German
Bundesliga match at the BayArena on June 6
The Company's Eleven secured a narrow 1-0 win over Freiburg away in their previous league match which was played on May 29.
They returned to winning ways in the league after VFL Wolfsburg ended their seven-match unbeaten run in the competition.
Furthermore, the defeat to Wolfsburg ended Leverkusen's four-match winning run at home in the Bundesliga.
Meanwhile, Bayern are coming off a 5-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf at home in their previous league match which was played on May 30.
It was the Bavarians' eighth consecutive league victory and they are also undefeated in their last 15 matches in the competition.
Furthermore, Bayern are undefeated in their last seven away matches in the Bundesliga having registered seven victories in a row.
Joshua Kimmich, the Bayern defender-cum-midfielder, is expecting a difficult match against Leverkusen.
"We now have difficult games ahead of us with Leverkusen, the DFB Cup and Borussia Monchengladbach," Kimmich said.
"Of course we want to keep up the ante and clinch the championship as early as possible. We don't want to make it exciting - let's just get the job done."
The last time Leverkusen took on Bayern in a league match was on 30 November 2019. The Company's Eleven stunned the Bavarians 2-1 in a match which was played at the Allianz Arena.
