The
2019 MTN8 Cup quarter-finals will take centre stage this weekend with four quarter-final matches taking place across South Africa.
Cape Town City will welcome Polokwane City at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, August 17. Kick-off is at 15h00.
City and Polokwane qualified for the tournament after finishing fourth and fifth respectively in the Absa Premiership last season.
Polokwane have failed to defeat City in their last five matches across all competitions.
City have recorded three wins and two draws against Polokwane.
At the Orlando Stadium,
Orlando Pirates will play host to Highlands Park on Saturday, August 17. Kick-off is at 18h00.
Pirates and Highlands Park booked their places in the MTN8 after finishing second, and seventh respectively in the previous
Absa Premiership campaign.
Highlands Park are winless in their last five matches against Pirates across all competitions.
Pirates have registered one win against Highlands Park, while four games ended in a stalemate.
Meanwhile,
Mamelodi Sundowns will face Bloemfontein Celtic at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, August 17. Kick-off is at 20h15.
Sundowns qualified for the tournament as last season's Absa Premiership champions, while Celtic finished eighth.
Celtic are hoping to end Sundowns' dominance over them.
Sundowns have recorded two wins and three draws against Celtic in their last five matches across all competitions.
Lastly,
Bidvest Wits will lock horns with SuperSport United at the Bidvest Stadium on Sunday, August 18. Kick-off is at 15h00.
Wits and SuperSport qualified for the MTN8 after finishing third, and sixth respectively in the Absa Premiership last season.
The last five matches across all competitions have seen the two teams register two wins each, while one game ended in a draw.
