Subway Series takes centre stage again

The Subway Series will take centre stage once again as New York Mets host their city rivals New York Yankees. 
 
The two teams which have both won the World Series will play as many as five times on the weekend of August 29 to August 31. 
 
The Mets are expected to host the Yankees at the Citi Field which hosted the 2013 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

Aaron Boone, Yankees manager, says he is looking forward to their matches with Mets as they look to regain the top spot on the American League East standings.
 
“We understand we are getting ready to head into a challenging stretch," Boone told Peter Caldera of North Jersey.com.

"[It] would have been nice to get one or even two of these games in [Monday]." 
 
The Mets are currently placed third on the National League East standings and they will be looking to move up on the table.
 
Meanwhile, Cincinnati Reds are set to take on Chicago Cubs in a clash between two National League Central teams on August 29.

The Reds are placed third on the standings having recorded 11 wins and they will be keen to improve their position on the table.
 
While the Cubs will be looking to continue their dominance in the league having accumulated an impressive 17 victories thus far.
 
Lastly, Colorado Rockies will be keen to record a win when they take on their National League West rivals San Francisco Giants on September 2.
 
The fourth-placed Rockies have been inconsistent this season having registered 13 wins compared to the Giants' 14 with the latter placed third on the league standings.
