Every Formula One Italian Grand Prix in the World Championship era has been held at Monza except in 1980, when it was held at Imola. The event is due to take place at the Monza Circuit until at least 2031.
Most recent race
The Dutch Grand Prix, which was the 15th round of the 2025 Formula One World Championship, was won by Oscar Piastri of McLaren on 31 August.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar finished second and third, respectively, at the Circuit Zandvoort.
Standings
Piastri is still placed at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings with nine races left in the current campaign.
McLaren's Lando Norris, Verstappen and George Russell of Mercedes are placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the standings.
Looking at the World Constructors' Championship standings, McLaren are still placed at the top, followed by Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing respectively.
Favourites
All eyes will be on the top-four ranked drivers, Russell, Piastri, Verstappen and Norris, as they look to be crowned champions at the 2025 Italian Grand Prix.
Having won the 2024 Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who is placed fifth in the World Drivers' Championship standings, will be determined to retain his title.
Quotes
“It feels a bit unreal. What was most surprising for me was keeping that fourth place for the whole race," Hadjar, who is placed 10th in the World Drivers' Championship standings, said after securing his maiden podium at the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix.
“Unfortunately for Lando, we took advantage of his [retirement], but we made no mistakes. The car was on rails the whole weekend, and I'm really happy about myself because I really maximised what I had, made no mistakes and brought home the podium, so I'm so happy for my guys.”
