The Eagles are still searching for their first win of the season and first since former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira took over the reins.

Palace lost at home to Chelsea on the opening weekend of the season before draws against newly-promoted Brentford and West Ham United.

In contrast, Nuno Espirito Santo won his first three Premier League matches as Spurs manager. The north London club followed an impressive 1-0 win over defending champions Manchester City with victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford by the same scoreline, to sit two points clear atop the standings going into the international break.

"We’re all really happy, most importantly to get the win before the international break, and finish with three wins (from the first three games),” said Spurs defender Eric Dier following their win over Watford.

“I think we can still do more, we can play better, probably we should have scored a few more goals today, but that will come.

"Within the three games, we’ve kept our principles, and our principles are the same, the manager really emphasises that, and we know together, as a unit, we can be very strong," he added.

Palace held Spurs to a 1-1 draw in the corresponding fixture last season before a 4-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the reverse fixture. Harry Kane scored in both matches between these two clubs last season.
