Roberto Bautista Agut looks for first Grand Slam title

2019 Wimbledon Championships

Women’s & Men’s Singles finals

Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July

Roberto Bautista Agut is two matches away from claiming his first Grand Slam title, as the 2019 Wimbledon Championships come to a close on Sunday 14 July.

The Spanish right-hander is appearing in the final four of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career, having enjoyed a strong run at SW19.

Bautista Agut has reached his first Grand Slam semifinal.

Bautista Agut has overcome Peter Gojowczyk, Steve Darcis, Karen Khachanov, Benoit Paire and Guido Pella to march into the semifinals.

His opponent is defending Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, who has defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber, Denis Kudla, Hubert Hurkacz, Ugo Humbert and David Goffin to put himself within touching distance of a fifth title on the famous grass courts.

Bautista Agut will next face defending champion Novak Djokovic.

In head-to-head terms, Djokovic has won seven of the 10 matches he has had against Bautista Agut. However, the Spaniard has beaten the Serbian twice this year (the players’ two most-recent meetings): 1-6 7-5 6-3 at the ATP Masters in Miami and 3-6 7-6 6-4 at the Doha Open.

The winner will face either Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal in the final at Centre Court on Sunday.
