While admitting that it would be difficult to dethrone brother and reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez will look ahead with positivity, beginning with the upcoming Portugal MotoGP this weekend.

Alex, who had to settle for second on the MotoGP rider’s list this year, recently conceded that his sibling is ‘statistically’ hard to beat.

After claiming first place at the Malaysia MotoGP last time out, the Gresini Racing star took his tally to 413 points with three wins and a further 11 podiums to his name this season.

Other than the Malaysia MotoGP, Alex’s most recent race win came at the Catalan MotoGP in early September, where his brother finished in second position with a time of +1.74s.

With the Marquez brothers completing a one-two finish on the 2025 MotoGP calendar, Alex feels that while Marc is currently in a league of his own, the Ducati rider is not ‘inaccessible’ to unseat.

“Looking at his statistics, Marc seems practically unbeatable – although, in sports, no one truly is, because Everything can change from one day to the next. ", Alex said.

“Many factors can influence things, so no one is inaccessible, even though he is very difficult to beat.

" I've always said it: a Marc with the right tools is extremely difficult to beat over 22 races. You can beat him on certain occasions, but being better than him overall is very difficult, because his main strength is that he is a very well-rounded pilot – He always pushes you to your limits.
“That's why I think it's so difficult to beat Marc.”
