Round 23

Sunday, 30 November 2025
Lando Norris will be looking to win the Qatar Grand Prix and possibly clinch the Formula One world title for the first time in his career.
Most recent race
The McLaren driver failed to secure a podium spot at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on 22 November, the most recent race on the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Norris started on the first grid, and he went on to finish second, but he was disqualified for excessive plank wear, which saw him leave the Las Vegas Strip Circuit without a single point.
Formula One title ambitions
The five-time Autosport Awards British Competition Driver of the Year is still placed at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 390 points.
Norris is 24 points ahead of second-placed Oscar Piastri of McLaren and third-placed Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing with two races left.
Why Norris could win the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix
The 2024 Formula One World Drivers' Championship runner-up remains the driver to beat, having won two of the last three Formula One races, being crowned champion in Mexico and Brazil.
Norris will be crowned 2025 Formula One world champion if he is at least 26 points ahead of Piastri and Verstappen after Sunday's race.
What did he say?
"A frustrating end to today," Norris said after the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
"We had to do some managing towards the end of the race and now we know it was due to some issues on our car, which have unfortunately resulted in us being disqualified. It’s frustrating to lose so many points.
"As a team, we’re always pushing to find as much performance as we can, and we clearly didn’t get that balance right today. Nothing I can do will change that now, instead full focus switches to Qatar, where we'll aim to go out and deliver the best possible performance in every session."
