As one of South Africa’s most prolific horse trainers, Sean Tarry has always had the ability to take a good horse right to the top of the
horse racing scene, knowing exactly where and how they will do best. We are proud to announce that Sean Tarry has taken his place, along with other South African sports legends, as a Betway ambassador.
Where the journey began
As a progressive, ambitious and hardworking trainer, Sean Tarry has risen rapidly to the top ranks of South Africa in recent years. To date, Sean has saddles 50 Grade 1 winners ranging from the minimum trip of 1000 meters to the maximum of 3200 meters, and has around 150 horses in training.

Sean is an extremely horse-focused trainer and attributes this to a lot of his success. “Handle each horse as an individual and chart his career to suit him and not like any other horse. If you do this they will make your career successful.”
