South Africa will square off with Bangladesh in their fourth match in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup Group 1 in Dubai, UAE on November 2.

The Proteas defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets to secure their second win in Group 1 with the encounter taking place in Sharjah, UAE on October 30.

South Africa won the toss and elected to field and David Miller's two last-over sixes powered the African side to a four-wicket victory as they successfully chased down 143 runs.

Therefore, the Proteas are placed second on the Group 1 standings - two points behind leaders, England, who remain undefeated, with two matches left.

Only the two top teams from Group 1 will progress to the knockout stage of the global tournament.

"In all the games that we've played, there have been different batters who have put up their hands and taken the team to victory," Tabraiz Shamsi, the Proteas' crack spinner, said after the win over Sri Lanka.

"We've only lost the one game in the tournament, so there's no need for anyone to be frustrated. The big positive is that we're not relying on one or two guys and that's something you always speak about in a team.

"We're comfortable with the way we're sitting. There are different guys who are scoring runs and winning games and it's the same with the ball."

Meanwhile, Bangladesh are wounded as they lost by 3 runs against West Indies in their third Group 1 game which was played in Sharjah on October 29.

Nicknamed the Bengal Tigers, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field, but they went on to record their third defeat of the tournament.

The Bengal Tigers' hopes of reaching the knockout phase are hanging by a thread as they are placed sixth on the Group 1 standings.

South Africa and Bangladesh will meet for the seventh time in a T20 match on November 2.

The Proteas have the upper hand in this rivalry having won all of their six T20 matches against the Bengal Tigers.

The last T20 match between the two nations was on 29 October 2017 and South Africa won by 83 runs in a T20 series game that was played in Potchefstroom.
