The
2025 Spanish Grand Prix is poised to take place in a municipality in the Barcelona metropolitan area, in Catalonia, Spain, called Montmelo on June 1.
What to know about the Spanish Grand Prix
Established in 1913, the race is one of the oldest in the world still contested, having celebrated its centenary in 2013 and it had modest beginnings as a production car race.
The event is due to take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya until 2026 and from 2026 until at least 2035 the race will be run at a new street circuit near Madrid.

The Monaco Grand Prix, which was the eighth round of the 2025 Formula One World Championship, was won by Lando Norris of McLaren on 25 May.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and McLaren's Oscar Piastri finished second and third, respectively, at the Circuit de Monaco.
Standings
Piastri is still placed at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings eight races into the current campaign.
Norris and Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen are placed second and third, respectively, in the standings, as they look to catch Piastri.
Looking at the World Constructors' Championship standings, McLaren are still placed at the top, followed by Mercedes, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari respectively.
Favourites
Piastri, Verstappen and Norris are the favourites to win this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix based on how they have performed so far this season.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton is the joint most successful driver in Spanish Grand Prix history with six wins, while Leclerc and George Russell of Mercedes will be targeting their first win of the campaign in Montmelo.

"It's a shame we couldn't take the win today, but we gave it everything. At end of the day, we lost the victory yesterday and Lando (Norris) just did a better job and he deserves this win," Leclerc said after finishing second at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix.
"On the upside, P2 exceeds the expectations we had going into this weekend so overall it's a good finish. As Ferrari, we are lucky to have great support all around the world, but being from here and seeing all the Monegasque people behind me really warms my heart.
"I realised my childhood dream last year by winning here, unfortunately it didn't work out today but I hope we will be on the top step again next year."
