Lewis Hamilton looks to continue his dominance

2019 Formula 1 season, Round 7

Canadian Grand Prix

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal

Sunday 9 June 2019

Lewis Hamilton will look to continue his dominance of the 2019 Formula 1 season when Round 7, the Canadian Grand Prix, is held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on Sunday 9 June.

Hamilton claimed his fourth win of the current campaign when he put in an epic drive on worn tyres at the Monaco GP last month, extending his Drivers’ Championship lead to 17 points over Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Lewis Hamilton has claimed six Canadian GP wins.

The five-time World Champion has an excellent record on the street circuit in Montreal, having claimed six previous victories (including three of the last four editions) – just one short of the all-time record of seven, held by Michael Schumacher.

Last year he only managed fifth place, with Sebastian Vettel taking the victory to break Mercedes’ stranglehold at the Canadian GP.

Lewis Hamilton leads the Drivers’ Championship standings

This year, Hamilton’s main threat will again come from his ‘Silver Arrows’ teammate Bottas, who will be eager to return to winning form after watching the Brit claim four victories from the last five races.
