Lewis Hamilton chases another victory

2019 Formula 1 season, Round 9

Austrian Grand Prix

Red Bull Ring, Spielberg

Sunday 30 June

Lewis Hamilton will look to continue his dominance of the 2019 Formula 1 season when Round 9, the Austrian Grand Prix, is held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on Sunday 30 June.

Hamilton claimed a fourth successive win last weekend when he triumphed at the French Grand Prix, completing a perfect race weekend of pole position, leading from start to finish, and the fastest lap.

Hamilton cruised to a fourth straight win last weekend.

The Mercedes driver seems to be in unstoppable form and will fancy his chances of extending the 36-point lead he enjoys over teammate Valtteri Bottas in the Drivers’ Championship.

The British driver has won just once at the Red Bull Ring (in 2016) and will see the likes of Bottas, Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel as threats to his hopes of picking up a second Austrian GP win in his career.

Hamilton enjoys a 36-point lead at the top of the championship.

The Red Bull team leaders Max Verstappen will also be a contender, having claimed the victory for the Austrian side last year, but it’s hard to look past Hamilton’s incredible form and consistency as he charges towards a sixth World Championship.
