World no. 1 Scottie Scheffler will be chasing another milestone when he tees it up at the Memorial Tournament from 4-7 June.
Not only is the American the defending champion, but he's also looking to match Tiger Woods' record of three consecutive titles at Jack's Place.
Scheffler beat Collin Morikawa by one stroke to win the signature event for the first time in 2024 and defended his crown after finishing four strokes ahead of Ben Griffin last year.
Woods is the only player in the tournament's 50-year history to have achieved a three-peat (1999, 2000, 2001), although Kenny Perry has also won at Muirfield three times (1991, 2003, 2008).
The 29-year-old is enjoying another consistent season despite only having one PGA Tour victory to his name, the American Express, but he has a string of second-placed finishes.
Scheffler put on a clinic on the back nine in 2025 under pressure from Griffin, who was just one shot behind him with eight holes left to play. But the reigning champion hit his next five fairways and again on the 17th, while his compatriot found the rough off the tee.
"I told myself when we were standing there on 17 tee, if Ben eagles 15, birdies 16 and 17 and 18, we deserve to be going into a playoff, and that's kind of the conversation I had with myself," he recalled.
"I can't stop him from playing great golf, but all I can do is just go out there and try and execute. I hit the fairway on 17, hit the green, gave myself a good look.
"When you're in the rough out here, it's really challenging, and Ben put it in the rough on 17, which makes that hole extremely difficult, and [he] paid the price for an errant tee shot."
