Defending champion Ryan Fox is bidding to become the ninth player to win back-to-back titles at the Canadian Open from 11-14 June.
The New Zealander claimed only his second victory on the PGA Tour when he carded an 18-under 262 to beat Sam Burns in a playoff at Osprey Valley last year.
That came less than one month after Fox tasted success for the first time on American soil at the Myrtle Beach Classic, having already won four events on the DP World Tour.
The 39-year-old has only finished in the top 10 once this year, a T7 at the Genesis Invitational, and he was forced to withdraw from the Players Championship in March due to kidney stones.
Fox admitted the health scare took a lot out of him after he had hoped to build on his T24 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but it also gave him a new perspective.
"I didn't touch a golf club for 10 days. It [kidney stones] did take a lot out of me," he said. "I've learnt that I don't like pain.
"It puts everything into perspective a little bit. When you get something like that happen, in the end your health is more important than anything else, and that was a pretty scary few days there.
"It also puts golf into perspective. I'd much rather the feeling of missing a cut than dealing with what I went through those few days."
